Bookaholics (you know who you are), one Philadelphia lawyer collected 100,000 books over his lifetime! In comparison, Powell’s City of Books in Portland, OR, has a million volumes. Great Sunday read, by Stephanie Farr of the Philadelphia Inquirer. #books @inquirer.com @farfarraway.bsky.social

I bookwormed my way into the most incredible place last week. It was bibliophile’s fever dream, the fanciest Philly house I’ve ever seen, and the former home of a modern-day Renaissance man.

I’m going to lure you in with photos then hit you with a link to my column. Hold on to your butts. 🧵
These are real animals, folks. I can’t imagine seeing that many rays at once! #nature #wildlife #ocean

Incredible footage of a rarely filmed large 3 dimensional school of circling Cownose Rays. I was really psyched to have captured this. The 3 dimensional school was circling on a horizontal plane and also on a vertical plane.

All the news that the administration deems is fit.
Nice calendar shot. Do you do a Shutterfly calendar with all your nice pics?
One of these days, the Supreme Court will be calling in sick from the whiplash.

After devastating floods swept through AZ, Chef Ivan and Steffani from Taqueria La Familia are serving tacos at the AZ Fairgrounds. Frank and Donna came to pick up meals for themselves and their elderly neighbors; they’re making sure everyone in their community has something to eat. #ChefsForArizona

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚
Great city to visit, so much to see!
Auxiliary use for a greenhouse: drying laundry when the dryer needs a fix. Notice the temp inside, fortunately today is sunny!
One big laundry dry-er: hanging the laundry in the hot greenhouse. Outside it’s 70 plus, inside almost 100.
It's more difficult to solve problems without being in the room, the quick asides before and after a meeting, heading out for a quick offsite conference, raised eyebrows after a comment. And you will never hear important rumors (CEO leaving, new OT rules, etc.) if you are not there in person.
Um, how it IS affected the rest of the world.
a little drizzle would be a good thing right now down there...coming up here soon, too. Been too dry for months!

Records obtained by ProPublica indicate that food banks across the country were expecting more than 27 million pounds of chicken, 2 million gallons of milk, 10 million pounds of dried fruit and 60 million eggs that never arrived.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, now ascending as a contender for the paper of record in the U.S., as NYT and The Washington Post are increasingly printing the news that fits their agenda or news that helps democracy die. @inquirer.com

An additional delightful bit -- Dr. Sakaguchi was the only one of the three who got the news directly from the Nobel committee. Dr. Brunkow saw someone was phoning from Sweden and thought it was spam/spoofing (an AP photographer later told her), and Dr. Ramsdell is hiking in a remote part of Idaho.
