I’m an RT optimist. I think it can be amazing one day for the average player. Right now it’s expensive, noisy, and most games that support it aren’t designed for it. But one day conditions will be such that games will be built around it, and supporting algorithms will be fast + clean.

Ugh, same with my kid. Feels like every kid her age on the planet is sick right now! Hope Kai gets well soon and you have a relaxing holiday.

Love this. Hope the EFF partners with public library systems at some point to more effectively spread this information.

Is this AI?

SERIOUSLY. My LG C5 has a goddamn “AI Mode” button but no button to switch TV inputs. It also comes loaded up with so many avenues for ads and LG smart integrations it is revolting.

Granted I know how to do all the workarounds (AdGuard, Logitech harmony, separate set-top box) but not everyone does.

Awesome! Keep live posting reactions. It’s the single game that got me Into Games, so to speak, so I always love hearing people talk about it, whether they particularly jive with it or not.

That’s a really good point. I wasn’t even thinking beyond the absurdity of using anything but lorem ipsum variants for placeholder text. What on earth could an AI generate that would make for *better* placeholder text than pig latin. Am I missing something??

Same! This is why I have such a deep love for Pokémon Snap. Love seeing creatures in a “natural habitat” it’s so engaging. It’s the joy I had as a kid reading animal facts in Nat Geo or Eye Witness books.

MY HEART

Oh man, that takes me back. Not just Actraiser specifically, but ZSNES. I think it was 2000-2001 when my dad introduced me to it and I played Link to the Past on our PC. That was a revolutionary time for emulation.
