Yes I can be friends with people who I disagree with politically. But that means disagreements like “should more or less tax money go to this department or that one?”

It doesn’t mean “are these people human, or not?”

I don’t think that’s only Anglicans. Seems like a general human trait.

I think a sense of humour is, in any church.

The actual abusive Christians forcing toxic theology and oppression on everyone aren’t on Bluesky so they make us the projection screens for their anger.

I’ll confess to the harm many Christians have caused and apologize for it.

I don’t troll atheists, jumping on their feeds to mock and ridicule them when I was never asked for my opinion.

I guess jerks come in all belief systems.

Someone asked me what kind of Anglican I am (High church? Low church?)

When I’m around Anglo-Catholics I become super Protestant in my Anglicanism.

When I’m around evangelicals, I become more Catholic than the Pope.

Some might call that “Broad Church”. I call it Contrarian Anglicanism.

A friend of mine who teaches politics said “The refusal to impeach Trump was the beginning of the slide toward fascism. When Harris lost the election, the slide turned into a march”.

My congregation has many Nigerians in it who chose us specifically because they no longer want to be part of a homophobic church. The stories some of them have told me about their churches in Nigeria made me so angry. Clergy who live like princes while most of their church is borderline starving.

While I agree with the sentiment of the post and believe it’s absolutely terrible that this pastor was pepper sprayed…I can’t help wondering, is it more shocking because it’s a white Christian man?

For many Americans, it is.
And that is the problem.

If a misdemeanour in another country is reason enough to arrest and deport someone, then surely 34 felonies and multiple assault charges in your own country should stop you from being president of it.

Oh I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine the pain. What a beautiful dog - and clearly deeply loved. May you be comforted in the knowledge you gave Teddy a life of comfort and love and may you be blessed by the memories of the love you received from Teddy 🙏🏼
