Speaking up, taking a stand, finding the courage to brave. With God’s Help.
My uncle, my Dad's youngest brother and the last of their generation died today. His name was also that of my youngest brother who died in 1967. It somehow feels like a double hit. And an awakening..I with my siblings, am now officially an elder.

Today, I choose to step away from the chaos of the world into the joy and hope of Easter, to reground myself in what is good, and true, and life giving--even as I pray for our nation's resurrection. Tomorrow can wait. Happy Easter!

The world feels heavy today. I am a bearer of hope, a proclaimer of light into darkness, but I am feeling weary, worn and sad. So give a good word, won’t you? Remind me of what is possible, of how good will ultimately overtake evil, that my faith in people’s goodness is not unwarranted.

I’m feeling the tug of the islands. I remember the calm and ease I felt here. Not a care in the world. A good image to meditate upon, don’t you think? Breathe out angst and heaviness, breathe in peace. Trust in the slow work of God (albeit with a prayer for things to get kick in’).

Chose to step out into the light of day and join with local folks in the MLK Parade. Signs of peace, all kinds of folks walking together, taking a stand for what is good and right and just, what is hopeful, remembering that together we are stronger. It gave me the peace for today that I needed.

A gratitude practice has the power to transform your life. For what are you grateful today, and for what do you hope for tomorrow?

Starting my day with a cup of coffee, and my reminder that love is always a tool available to me. Off to celebrate a Thanksgiving Service, and then to the airport to pick up my son. My heart overflows with gratitude.
