A 22-year-old Palestinian died in Israeli prison -- where he'd been held for a year and a half without charges.

His last two months, he was bed-ridden.

When he died, he weighed 88 lbs.

He was the 78th Palestinian to die in Israeli jail since Oct. 7, 2023.

The statement also said Khdeirat had dropped his weight to approximately 40 kilograms (88 pounds).

According to the committee, a lawyer who visited him in August testified that Khdeirat had been bedridden for ove two months.

The PA's statement tallies 78 administrative detainees and prisoners who died in Israeli prison since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.

I think trying to talk people out of defending themselves is the kind of thing that results in every major problem is American history being unresolved and/or currently being rolled back. It’s a lot of words to admit YOUR risk tolerance is too low to fight for your country. That’s ok too!

This ain’t it. I get that it’s fuzzy legally, but so is federalizing national guard and deploying them to blue states. Make the cops choose a side, they’re going to, anyway. we can hold them accountable when the dust settles.

I refuse to give up any means of fighting because a professor said so.

I’m wondering if nonviolence is why America never squarely deals with its problems. We never punished Confederates, stopped Reconstruction early. Roe came and went. Voting Rights Act? lol. We’re STILL dealing with the same fucks, and are STILL being commanded to get our asses beat. When will it end?

It’s funny. We keep being told to not be violent, because it gives them what they want. But then they do it anyway while indiscriminately gassing and beating the fuck out of protestors. Non violence isn’t a suicide pact, and someone will eventually say “fuck it” and defend themselves.

Same. The Bush administration was where I learned this lesson. The PATRIOT Act revealed that there was no small government party, just one party that wanted government to solve problems and the other wanted to use the government to destroy their enemies (Muslims, the Left, taxes, LGBTQ folks, etc.
