Husband, son, father, SSM priest in the CofE and teacher. Usually parkrunning on a Saturday morning. Views my own etc.
Full of the joys of celebrating the Eucharist in a stunning church on this Christmas night. Cheers! #Clergymaltclub

So this happened today... my 250th Aldenham parkrun (out of 315 in total). I love visiting different parkruns but there's no place like home. So great to come back here, rain or shine, mud or dirt, frost or heat, joyful or in sorrow, tired or buzzing. #loveparkrun

Dear @economist.com . After decades of subscribing, your sneaky decision to up the cover price the week after the summer double issue has pushed me over the edge. If I'm cancelling my subscription due to unethical pricing tactics, I'm hardly going to be tempted by a "30% off if you come back" offer.

I've had a tough time recently, so haven't been here much. Running has been such a vital part of my journey through grief, and being part of the #parkrun community has provided a huge amount of comfort and solace. Great to run my 300th today at Aldenham
#loveparkrun Thanks, @pauls-h.bsky.social .

I think the BBC is marvellous. But on the day of the most seismic shift in UK politics for decades, it leads with this. I long for reconciliation between Harry and his dad. But this is not news. It's self aggrandisement. A terrible editorial decision.

A huge privilege to attend a Requiem Mass for Pope Francis tonight. Beautiful liturgy and a stonking sermon. May Pope Francis rest in peace.

A stunner of a day so I decided it was time to run my nearest #parkrun (as the crow flies) at Jersey Farm. A great welcome, fine views, brilliant #hivisherpes and wonderful trails - what's not to like? #loveparkrun

Beautiful Taize service where we gave thanks for members of the LGBT+ community who've made an immeasurable difference to our nation. Proud to be part of a church which seeks to be inclusive.

Panshanger parkrun - a gorgeous mud-free one-lapper with fine views and brilliant team of #hivisheroes - all within 25 minutes of home!*

My eyes went a little misty when I heard about this. An amazing story of human ingenuity. I shall be forever grateful to Prof Bainbridge and his team of retinal surgeons at Moorfields who managed to fix my wonky eyes...

Another new #parkrun this morning. Oaklands College is a lovely mudfest of a two-lapper with a swamp. It was only the 4th event there this morning. Hats off to the event team who've devised a really interesting course in a small space and of course to the #hivisheroes. #loveparkrun

#Candlemas - a lovely day of looking backwards to Christmas and forwards to the Passion of Christ. Image of the Presentation is from the Melisinde Psalter - a 12th Century publication featured in the stunning British Library exhibition on Medieval Women: In Their Own Words. See it if you can!

Oh my, you were beautiful this morning, Aldenham parkrun! Incredibly grateful for the hardy team of volunteers who made it possible for us to run safely this morning. -4C was approaching my limit of running in shorts... #loveparkrun

It's my 8th #parkruniversary today. The screenshot below is how I recorded it on FB. I can't begin to describe what a difference #parkrun has made to my life since. Thank you to all the #hivisheroes who have made my 270 runs possible, and to @pauls-h.bsky.social for having the vision to start it all

#Churchontheground Four services yesterday. Highlight was conducting a wedding blessing for a couple married in Japan - the groom brought his wife's family back to his home village church (where his parents were married) for the ceremony. That's #mychurchofengland @diostalbans

The world is a sadder place right now. President Carter was someone who believed in deeds, not words, and who worked tirelessly to make life better for the underprivileged. May he rest in peace.

parkrun 2024 by the numbers:
46 runs (39 at Aldenham
8 courses (including 3 new ones)
6 volunteer slots
270 runs in total

Finished 2024 off with a lovely jaunt round Stevenage. Huge thanks to the countless #hivisheroes who've made these 46 runs possible.

I'll do it all again in 2025!

A fine #BoxingDay thus far. A delightful 5k run under this bridge and onto the untold pleasures of a disused golf course. And then a 5k walk with No. 2 daughter. Calories spent *almost* equal to those taken on via the consumption of #QualityStreet since getting up...

There really is something quite beautiful about coming home from Midnight Mass to a house where all is quiet and putting the baby Jesus into the nativity whilst pondering the mystery of the incarnation. My tipple this morning for the #clergymaltclub is a Glenlivet - Cheers!

A huge privilege to deacon this evening for our new(ish) Vicar. Now I've joined #ClergyMaltClub & am reflecting on the mystery of the incarnation. Two full services today. #ChurchontheGround is flourishing!
