Don't forget to give it a little love to your backyard birds today! If you have the means, put out sugar water for hummingbirds, seeds for the others, and give them access to water. It makes a big difference, especially during mating season! More resources = more bird babies = more pollinators! 🐥

Migration season is wild, and the least we can do is not make it harder. Turn off extra lights at night, plant natives so they have food on the way to their final destination, and keep cats indoors so they’re not hunting our tired travelers.

‼️ Hawaiʻi County has passed Bill 51, banning feeding of feral & stray animals on public lands starting Jan 1, 2026.

🔴 This protects fragile ecosystems + endangered birds like the Nēnē (fewer than 4,000 left), ‘Alae ke‘oke‘o, and ‘Ua‘u.

Simple ways to avoid using plastic:

- Use a reusable bag
- Don't wrap your produce in plastic bags at the grocery store
- Use a reusable bottle for water that is BPA free instead of single-use bottles
- Avoid plastic utensils, maybe take your own with you (bamboo is a great option!)

It's in the sea, & its creatures. It's EVERYWHERE. In NYC, about 2 yrs ago — they banned supermarkets, & other local stores — from using plastic bags. When we shop, we must either buy/bring reusable bags with us. Just about ANYTHING you purchase now is made with industrial plastic.
