Have you noticed that these days when time travellers grab you by the shoulders and ask what year it is, when you reply "2024" they no longer say "Thank God. I'm not too late"?

Also who has two thumbs and just got 20 quid off this year's present because they had 2000 points stored up from last year's present?

Photo of a Kansas City Chiefs press conference with Andy Reid, Travis Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes. Reid is wearing a gray suit and red tie with a lapel pin. Kelce is wearing a camp-style short-sleeved shirt with a bird print, along with a suede cap, and Mahomes is wearing a white collared shirt, a pink checkered double-breasted vest, and a pale pink tie.

If you have any reckons, d'you think you might tell me where I might find a little hope just so I can not seem to my child to be behaving constantly as if the world is collapsing around them?

feels like yet again time to mention that the *videogames* industry (that's a creative industry, which people do creative degrees in) brings in more than twice the amount to the British economy as the fishing and steel industries *combined*

I cannot understand what these people think the purpose of human life is?

It is *not* "pursue joy, deal justly, love well, try to understand as much and see as much of this beautiful world and of the deepness, richness and variety of human culture and experience as you can before you die"?

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

Just to be clear, an English degree - learning to critically assess texts - is actually one of the most dangerous for people such as Badenoch.

An educated population, able to bring hundreds of years of context to statements in a dawning age of AI slop and attention-seeking dishonesty is also vital.

So, the plan is to cut English, the arts, and sociology - the degrees that actually study culture - while on another part of your platform claiming to “defend” British culture.

It’s performance nationalism with a reading age of seven.
Badenoch: Curb students taking 'rip-off' degrees such as English
The performing arts, sociology and anthropology are among the subjects the Conservatives would like to cut

Wait, people harass you and accuse you of *what* because you're a librarian? That is absolutely wild. Is this normal for the US now? Things are way worse than I imagined

Does everything just have to be *completely weird* all of the time now? I can't be bothered to see what stupid thing Jenrick's said (he is clearly a bigoted idiot), but really - where are the grown-ups? Where are the people who mouth "inside voice" from across the room to stop ppl saying things?
