Counterpoint: he's not even asking the questions later. He's just attempting wish fulfillment with a goldfish brain (which gets you some of those wishes to some degree when you're a President without a functioning Congress, but only so far).

There's a path to rehabilitation and restitution for everyone. Even for these bozos.
But it'd take stepping back, not trusting their own judgment any more, not using their voice, and just doing good work for others in the world ... and I doubt almost any of them could stomach all those requirements

Maybe public testimony after subpoena's from Congress? That's my suggestion after a couple of minutes of thought.
Beyond that, it's either beyond the scope of power available, or symbolic grandstanding when it's convenient rather than an initial reaction.
Or maybe I'm not brainstorming enough.

I'd actually love to know a realistic consequence someone would be advocating for. Statute of limitations, and location of criminal activity, are both pretty big roadblocks. Are we just looking for an official condemnation? Banning from organized Democratic activities? What consequence?

I mean, possibly, but probably not, this was the party who only wanted the release of the Epstein files when damage to Trump became a bigger net moneymaker in fundraising than the potential fallout damage to Clinton and any donors.
