Pokemon Legends Z-A in one more week

At the same time I get it. Most action RPGs don't have a difficulty curve that asks you to understand because the varying skill levels are huge. You will get some rare stuff like KH2 and 3 Data fights, Xenoblade 1-3 super bosses, and Xenoblade 2 challenge mode where you can't brute force.

I sort of see it as fighting games but for RPGs. The tutorials for them end up really bad so people have varying experiences without kind of figuring out end goal for a lot of these games.

I think a lot of people have misconceptions or get how things work. Misunderstanding how to play Kingdom Hearts, Tales of, Xenoblade, and FF7R. So I will see people rate some of the questionable ones high and think some of the actual good ones as bad.

This isn't directed towards anyone specific but it's something that's been on my mind for action RPGs. I think some people are smart with turn based but horrible at understanding how to properly play an action RPG.

No, make her a funny one

While I should try to convince myself to just main her again, I'm mostly derusting just so I can smoothly try out C Viper when she's out. Been playing too much control the neutral characters and not enough hurling my characters in because I am the neutral.

Playing SF6 again but not going too ham like ranked, I'm trying to get my Cammy back. It's funny adjusting to all these nerfs since season 1. She's still really good but I definitely can't play stupid like I used to.

I don't play GoW but I've seen a friend stream the PS5 game. It just seemed less of a videogame and more of we want to be taken seriously. It's weird since I get the audience grew up, but there's something about it that's off.

Last one I will do for this thread.

Avoiding Chrono Trigger, I'm going to shill the recently released Final Fantasy Tactics remaster. Even if you're not good at SRPGs, there's easy mode and QoLs. I love Matsuno's writing and this is a story to experience. You will not regret it.

Ar Tonelico 1 and 2! These games are pretty rough and don't have the best localization from what I recall. The music is amazing and overall it's rough but fun games.

Underrated because Gust is mostly known for just Atelier now. I sort of miss when AT did what Atelier didn't and vice versa.

I love them! Pokemon is great and I just played Cyber Sleuth this year and had fun spending another 30 hours just refining my team. My only issue is when a game forces them on you to replace human party members. Tales of Symphonia DotNW was bad at this. Only Dragon Quest V did it right.

What's your opinion on Monster catching/collecting type of rpgs?
rhapsody39.bsky.social
Xenogears. Great and ambitious game. But with the lack of QoLs games have nowadays, my exp will just get worse on a replay. Plus a lot of ideas I loved in Xenogears trickled into Xenoblade. I do want to revisit it one day though.

QUESTION TIME.
Witch rpg you loved at the time of release/playing but can't replay right now ? ( for any reason )

Getting jumpscared and knowing this is Rean's VA is so funny

Favorite composer. If you don't know the composers that well, give a shoutout to a song that stick with you.

I'm going to be boring and pick maybe Path of Radiance lol. The new ones are fun with neat maps and mechanics though. I just like simple easy to get through stuff and PoR has a lot of that and great designs.

ESPECIALLY Horsetelle.

There's a certain Trails in the Sky 3rd character I can't spoil since a friend is going through that one right now. I'll pick Ludger in Xillia 2 which is funny because he's just the protag but they made him Dante.

Here's a snip of a Donguri combo video that avoids as much spoilers as possible.

It's one of those dungeons where you have to find keys or something and turn 5 statues in the proper direction. It was pretty awful. If it was just a maze I could deal with it lol
rhapsody39.bsky.social
Husbandos... hm.

Squall for wanting to protect him. Surprisingly fragile mentally and his design is good. Also I want to give an honorable mention to when stories push how good natured the guy is. Shoutouts to Welkin since VC did a great job for a middle ground on the leads.

Too difficult to narrow down lol

Aerith for just overall wife.
Ryza for thirst wife
Nia for best friend wife
Agnes for high potential wife

Hard copium, I think her turn is finally arriving. As much as I wanted her in, she'd get overshadowed by everyone who returned in Horizon. Sky 1st is heavy promotion. Trust.

Lusamine's good! Most of my exp is her in the OG SuMo. I know they changed some stuff in US/UM but I plan on checking it out.

Imagine giving specific lessons or grading people to boost stats. Doesn't need to be too deep, but it would've been fun!
