Woonsocket consistently fails to take effective action to addess the multiple crises facing their own community members. This week, they will vote on an ordinance to further harm unhoused residents. Criminalizing neighbors doesn’t solve homelessness- HOUSING does. Sign, share, stand up, fight back!
Tell the Woonsocket City Council: Don't Criminalize Homelessness!
Most of us are one medical emergency or a few missed paychecks away from housing insecurity. Unhoused folks are our family, friends, and neighbors. Please sign @rebuildwoon's petition at http://rebuil...

Dear ‘journalists’ - the police report is not the article.
Listen to actually qualified people like Dr. Marino instead of adding to the problem.
(Although if you do want to smoke anything, RI does have a safe place for you!)
Police in Rhode Island are saying someone died from fentanyl-laced cannabis based on preliminary drug testing done by the police, and I just want people to remember law enforcement is not qualified to perform drug testing or determine cause of death. It helps nobody to create unfounded drug panics.

My FIL died this morning. We knew he was dying, so I worked with my voice coach on one of his favorite songs. I sang it to him yesterday, and he opened his eyes and tried to talk. I don’t know exactly what he was saying but I knew he heard me.
Guess what the song was?

Update on my APRA request. The gov’s office denied having custody of any records related to the decision to force providers into paper credit cards (paper and mailing = cost to taxpayers, running the cards = cost to providers). On to the DOA. Someone is making $$ off of this and it’s not any of us.

Well I guess I’m going to try to find out. APRA submitted, stay tuned!
Which we will be charged to use by our card processing company.
No prior notice and apparently no choice. Just foisted upon us. Who made this decision? And who’s getting their pockets lined as a result? @steveahlquist.bsky.social

Fentanyl is not the problem. The racist, classist war on people who use drugs is the problem. And we need to respond to this EO with as much backlash as we can. Tell your elected officials that we need EVIDENCE BASED drug policy to save lives.

So the State of Rhode Island, where behavioral health providers are hanging on by a thread, has changed the way they will pay out grants. Instead of just, um, putting the money in our bank via ACH, they will send us paper credit cards from JPMorgan.

Drug use is morally neutral and stilettos are a bad choice for running.
The message you should take away from Elon’s rumored ketamine habit isn’t that ketamine is bad.

It’s that all drugs, including ketamine, are useful in some contexts and harmful in others.

If you ran a marathon in stilettos and it went poorly, trying to ban stilettos would be a bizarre reaction.

In the last 3 days, we’ve gotten about 40 clawbacks from @optumhealth.bsky.social
It appears they can’t manage to correctly process claims that bridge a new year. Why is that the provider’s problem? Because there is no accountability for these organizations who ‘manage’ our benefits.
