It's because the texture below is on a surface that's at approximately the same height as the floor texture. From some angles, it pokes through.

Sounds pretty good. I had the Maxi ISIS from that series with the external I/O box. Unfortunately, it never got drivers beyond Windows 98. The snag was that the latency was sky high, so it was no good for software synths.

If you told me in '88 Jasper Carrot would be in that kind of trouble, I'd be shocked.

Make a nostalgic text adventure on that subject, the sort that builds up each scene with draw commands. "Mike, I'd be teary-eyed making the Tandy logo on graph paper. It's probably best to never attempt it."

Look, they wouldn't have included that old mic with your Soundblaster Awe64 unless it was good.

You don't want to know what it said on the copy I got of that game :-D

And yet, Fallout 76 seems to completely abandon the 50s futurism / Americana.

I'm currently doing a playthough of Fallout 1 using Fallout Community Edition on Linux.

I've just bought a Yamaha PSR 270 for 50 quid and shoved it into a corner in the dining room. There's no real frills or distractions to it. For about two months, I've had a little go on it every day.

I hate moments where I think, "I'm supposed to be brilliant at technical things!", and then I daren't long press because I don't want to actually ring the person on the phone app.

I'm no expert in fashion (obvs), but vampire teeth would have shocked earlier generations. Now, one feels half-dressed without them.

What's honestly new in music these days? Think of all of the electronic and rock styles that emerged in the 70s/80s/90s. Apart from minor details, what is there now that couldn't have existed in those earlier decades?

Even games and films have barely evolved in two decades.

A few times I've started on something like season 3 by mistake with streaming.

That's rarer than an Enterprise 64 game!

People will end up calling you Turn-Based Tilly when they find out you like that game.

That rounded, shiny, plastic thing looks pretty primitive. But... I shouldn't make fun of Windows XP too much.

Have you ever done that thing where you play so much Doom that you can see it when you close your eyes?

I haven't watched it yet, but I'll give it a try. Eugene Levy is the icing on the cake when he turns up in a little role in a comedy like the car salesman in National Lampoons Vacation. I'm glad he's well known in his own right now. Catherine O'Hara is a always welcome sight too.
