So, just to be clear. The greatest econ master strategy is making the markets swallow a multi-trillion dollar wipeout in exchange for countries saying they are maybe sorta open to dealing? lol.
Pee Wee German said last night the global tariffs were the greatest economic strategy ever. Now reversing them is.

Why would any country work on a deal when in 90 days he will do the same thing again? He’s turned tariffs on and off like 6 times already. He is not a serious person!

Legitimate question: why does he think we should be trying to help Tesla?!?!?
Musk: I mean, have you Tim Walz, who is a huge jerk, running on stage with the Tesla stock price.. What an evil thing to do. What a creep, what a jerk. Like who derives joy from that?

They’ve already decided to spin it this way. No heads will roll. Nothing will come of it. They will just attempt to gaslight everyone until the next crisis arises to divert attention.

New: The “agreement” between Paul Weiss and the Trump admin is very different depending on what version you read – Trump's Truth Social post, or the internal firm version I obtained. DEI language, ref to "the Administration’s initiatives" etc differ. Full text here:

Tonight, hours after the Paul Weiss news broke, an associate at Skadden Arps sent a firm-wide email:

"Please consider this email my two week notice, revocable if the firm comes up with a satisfactory response to the current moment...We do not have time. It is now or it is never..."

Advice for young professionals: Learn what system of self-management works for you and apply it consistently to your work to optimize performance. Over time, as you gain a reputation for excellence, you will find that others have to adjust to your system, not the other way around.

Exactly this.
Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out.

Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation.

Say equity, which a just society should pursue.

Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.

Just to say the quiet part out loud, the point of having unelected judges in a democracy is so that *whether* acts of state are “legitimate” can be decided by someone other than the people who are undertaking them.

Vermeule knows this, of course. So does Vance.
