I don't think it's exaggeration to say that Claptrap was the high-point of wise-cracking characters in videogames. And that's a very low high-point for the genre.

Why would you make a game with a talking, wise-cracking main character at all, but especially why would pay to show a 30 second trailer full of wise-cracks that have 0% chance of landing?

They look to be very persuasive.

Crikey, what a beast! For when you really need to play Elite on the move ;)

woohoo, congratulations!

I've taken to touching a screwdriver to it first to discharge any static. That takes away most of the pain, but I can still feel the twitch when it happens.

Btw the one I’m getting is actually even stranger. No space bar, but it does have meta, super and hyper modifier keys in addition to the usual ctl, alt and shift :)

Haha, most of the nonstandard legends are nonsense. They just made them up to have something on there. The kit ships with lots of blank keycaps too. Plus there are 3rd party sets for this layout.

I should be receiving my order for one of these soon. Because more keys == better (I think?) ;)

especially since he was the only user of it at that time. And it spiraled so much he apparently never went back to the game. Though I don't have the full story so maybe that's not exactly how it played out.

I don't know how many people use bun because I'm not part of that world either. I'm sure it's a great benefit to people who use it (and I'm also surprised that Go is regarded as slow), but the dev's original motivation to save some of the 45 sec reload time of his MC clone seems unwise,

I don't know how long it took in total because I left before he finished. But I do know the company scrapped the whole project some time later. So, not the greatest use of time IMO.

yeah, I know it matters a lot more to some people than others. I'm more of a 'think long and make few changes' type. But I did work with a guy who generally hated Unreal, but also didn't like waiting 1 minute for it to restart. So he wrote a complete engine from scratch to replace it.

Seriously....

In case you're still thinking AI can only generate code that's similar to its training. Claude wrote the test that found this bug, I asked it to implement a crash handler that reported the stack trace. It then analysed the code to find the root cause of a complex multi-process bug.
