The Daily Not-Rothko is the line in the fallen leaves made by the wind from passing cars

Indeed, I prefer it, but very rarely see it outside its native territory.

'Everyone knows that Anglo-Saxons put all their stuff on one side of their buildings'

There is, as it happens, the smallest kernel of half truth in that statement, but unless you dig both halves you cannot prove it...

Where the fuck's that coming from Paul? It shows that neither the people who came up with the idea, those who agreed with it or those who are implementing it and signing it off have any idea whatsoever about how a Grubhut worked or what the hell it was for. None of them deserve the name 1/2

I've been hanging around these places, working mostly, for 30 years, there's been a huge change over that time with the expansion of the university, student numbers, the arrival of all the biotech and computer tech companies and the flood of European, American and Chinese money.

I suspect that part of the reason is that they did not dig ditches and the biggest and most obvious early A-S features we find in evaluations are Grubhuts, Sunken-Featured Buildings, and they did not dig these in clay subsoils (they would flood) - both facts make them hard to spot in trenches.
