The thing is, *if* the singularity was a thing and it solved scarcity, that would mean wealth no longer has meaning, ergo no-one is rich any more. I don't think the billionaires would allow that

Same here. On the internet I read people insist "jif" is correct and they can provide proof. I have never heard an actual human being say that.

I think the answer to that is: nothing. If we accept this government is as far right as it appears to be; the hallmark of the far right is they don't really like anything, least of all their own supporters.
