Doctor Who fan, who sings and admins. Spends most of his time in a cathedral, and likes his tea stirred anti-clockwise
You are now forced to have the same job as the main character in the last book you read.

What is your job?

I’ve finished this painting (after getting stuck and leaving it for a year.)

Based on the oddly fascinating photos of James Saxon, @nicolabryant.bsky.social, Carmen Gómez, and
@whofrazer.bsky.social rehearsing for The Two Doctors in 1984.

(First inspired by a comment from @quiteamess.bsky.social.)

Watching the second season of the new All Creatures Great and Small show, and just want to say that I unironically love the The Big Cricket Match trope in English period dramas. Fucken love it.

This slice of Nigel Kneale terror via @tobyhadoke.bsky.social is so atmospheric and haunting. I first heard it on autumnal drive to Winchester in 2020, and it has stayed with me ever since
On BBC 4 Extra at 4pm: a repeat of @tobyhadoke.bsky.social’s estimable and effective 2018 radio adaptation of The Road. Genuinely not to be missed if you’re a Nigel Kneale fan.

I’ll take you to Havnor and say to the princes of Earthsea, “Look! In the place of darkness I found the light, her spirit. By her an old evil was brought to nothing. By her I was brought out of the grave. By her the broken was made whole, and where there was hatred there will be peace.”

Things don't have purposes, as if the universe were a machine, where every part has a useful function. What's the function of a galaxy? I don't know if our life has a purpose and I don't see that it matters. What does matter is that we're a part.

Watching Father Ted’s a Christmassy Ted and remembered this nugget of pop trivia, the priest with the most boring voice Father Fitzgerald (Sean Barrett) in Ireland's largest lingeree section was the cover star of The Smith's single "How Soon is Now" a still from the 1958 film "Dunkirk".

Nus Ghani MP - the Deputy Speaker - moved to the UK as a small child. She has been elected by the voters in Wealden in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2024

More outright racism from the regular GB News & Talk TV contributor Lucy White - who previously called (on GB News) for all Muslims to leave Britain

Interesting. I heard him say exactly the same thing on the radio about 15 years ago. In fact, I expect he says it every time someone uses it to introduce an interview

My guess is that Billie Piper and David Tennant will star, and at the end will *co-generate* into whoever’s next
Russell T. Davies will write a #DoctorWho 2026 Christmas Special, the BBC has confirmed, along with news that their Disney+ deal is over.
