@ivanthek.bsky.social This president’s direct to the world statements with the silly US Flag face tough guy image is Iran the big threat for nuclear response? Just wondering what would happen if Denmark or Canada or Panama said…it’s time to waste billions and develop a nuclear arsenal?

And for those who might say, Yes, but…what does Timothy Snyder know…about war, history etc….?
The answer is a lot more than pretty much everyone

It's unlikely he has read this, given his statements that he doesn't read books. Yet, given his speech patterns and frequency of certified falsehoods uttered over the past decade-plus, he understands this principle very well. Don't repeat even part of a lie. #TelltheTruth #CalloutFalsehoods

I feel like it’s very important to support this statement from representatives of Nations in Canada. It is also important as a descendant of settlers in Alberta, Canada that any talk of separation is indefensible. Do not waste time or money on political games.

In a world increasingly filled with people who claim to be leaders, nationally and internationally, applying dehumanizing labels to members of mankind, striving to make others “less than” - even alien to mankind, the best cure is actually knowing “others”. 💙📚 #greatread @peterbeinart.bsky.social

Felt like my math teacher was wanting to see my work. So in the end, how many trillion have been lost by this guy playing around with people’s lives, retirement funds and possibly playing insider game favorites? #nowisagreattimetobuy

Perhaps it would be wise for all (in gov't and not) to read, "Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning" by Peter Beinart @peterbeinart.bsky.social (A Jewish author) the conversation presented about what is and what is not antisemitism is thought-provoking. Thank you Peter. #listen2all

Kara, your comment mirrors the sentiment of the book I would like to recommend. The subject of the book is Gaza. The author (also a reporter) is an American Citizen born in Egypt; I believe he also holds Canadian citizenship. The challenge: more foresight, more understanding, less hindsight.

Perhaps if that was applicable for one school…no, even then it would be wrong, but that it is applicable to so many, and the assault on museums, the white-washing of national parks and memorials. The banned books lists at West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force, including Emmanuel Acho‘s conversations?

Agree folks please read. There is a history of making enemies out of people different than your image of “great”

Labels like "bastions of left-wing thought" repeatedly labelled against institutions of higher learning by extreme right-wing politicians are disconcerting and inaccurate. Is it possible that those who do not see what DT sees are more centrist than left or right?

Wisconsin please don’t ….

No, this is both a wild over generalization and factually wrong. Though likely an opinion from a very safe distance from being shelled or shot for something you truly had no say in stopping or starting. WOW. Pretty easy until it’s your turn.

#march #womanauthors #racism #teenrealism #bannedbooks 💙📚 I really enjoyed the Nic Stone’s choice to bring readers a reminder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and a different POV. This isn’t an elementary grade book but to suggest it shouldn’t be in a classroom library at HS is wrong IMO.

This trending cluster on #bluesky caught my eye this morning. I wonder if Severance (pay), March Madness, and Trump education (what was that university scam, dept of education) might be connected in ways different from the trending terms intended. #unintendeddancepartners.

Colleagues on #BookSky 💙📚 if you have not heard of Cherie Dimaline a Canadian Métis author of several great books including the multi-award winning "The Marrow Thieves" youtu.be/71yBPHk7kOI?... I highly recommend this book and author. #enjoy. I would add grade 9-12 students would enjoy this book.

"I used to think, but now I think"is a thinking routine from Harvard's Project Zero I favour as a Social Studies teacher and someone who tries to understand the world better. There is so very much more to know about Gaza, Israel, the West, WWII, the protests, the Holocaust. Keep reading.

Came across "One Day, Everyone Will Have Been Against This" by Omar El Akkad (Egyptian/Canadian recently received American Citizenship). Very well written, researched with personal life experiences woven throughout. "The more I know, the more I know I need to know more." RG 💙📚 #booksky

When sniper fire is a real thing, along with bombs and missiles, it's challenging to consider that so many reporters were not targeted deliberately. Omar, himself a reporter, offers this thought in his recently released book.

Started on Wednesday, finished LATE last night or technically early this morning. Released a couple of weeks ago…it will hurt your heart, but it’s very important to invite that opportunity. #RTB (Read This Book) it’s ok if folks think I am wrong, in my reaction, I’ll invite just the same.
