For real, I forgot Candyman was another Barker inspiration until you mentioned it. His influence is massive. Bummer about the Dread adaptation. The sterile clinical angle was what made the story for me 😔

I know. Hathaway's Flash is such a tragic story 😭

I thought I was gonna get some wacky body horror where we all learn a lesson. Nope, dude just dies.

I'm really supposed to just go on with my day after reading something this haunting?

I read a summary for Dread and was like "this feels worse than the story." Will probably skip it. I feel you on all the others. I forgot Midnight Meat Train was a Clive Barker story despite loving the movie.

I think only one or two didn't with for me. Even the one about a demon trying to torment the most oblivious man alive was fun. Did you have a personal fav? I was a big fan of Human Remains and expect I'll be coming back to it.

It's tragic finding out that Ishida ended the series feeling it was a narrative and artistic failure. You can feel where Jump deadlines really started crunching during the sequel series. Glad he leveraged the success of Tokyo Ghoul into being able to publish Choijin X when chapters are fully baked
