Next year will bring a new mayoral administration, and it’s time to think big about improving our streetscape.

The @ridersalliance.org plan for Bus Rapid Transit is exactly the kind of visionary stake in the ground we need.

BRT saves time, and time is money in New Yorkers’ pockets.
ridersalliance.org
What we're calling for isn't new or expensive. It's a recommitment from our next Mayor to build the projects Mayor Adams has abandoned, implement *real* BRT (not just red paint!), and to treat our buses and its millions of daily riders with respect and dignity.
ridersalliance.org
Thanks to analysis from People Oriented Cities, we know that upgrading buses on Utica Avenue to BRT-level service would result in 17-minute time savings — cutting the trip from Dekalb Ave to Kings Plaza by nearly 40%!
ridersalliance.org
We know what we need (BRT!), we know where we need it, and after four years of waiting for City Hall to do what's needed to speed up the nation's slowest buses, we know what's missing — the political will to do it.

Bus riders make New York possible. In Zohran, we finally have a mayoral nominee who sees us, values our time, and is ready to govern as our rider-in-chief.

Congratulations, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social!

For us, today’s election is about more than choosing our next Mayor. It’s about showing that every day bus and subway riders are done being ignored.

Thanks to riders like you, we’ve been able to make a clear statement: Put riders first, or see you at the ballot box!

Riders need a Mayor who will fight for fast, reliable, affordable transit. Here’s how we make it happen:

1️⃣: DO NOT vote for Andrew Cuomo

So proud to be part of the push to get the center-running bus model on the north end of the Flatbush corridor, which has some of the slowest speeds and highest ridership during peak hours 🚌

Big thank you to @ridersalliance.org iance for all of their work on this!

While we stand by our reasoning for encouraging voters to consider Senator Ramos, in light of her decision to endorse Andrew Cuomo — the antithesis of the values, policy, and communities we represent — we cannot in good faith recommend that riders include her on their ballots.

Updated slate coming.

Let's talk about mayoral candidate Senator @jessicaramosqns.bsky.social — a daily transit rider with a consistent record of supporting public transit (who has proudly never had a driver’s license)!
