It really makes me appreciate how good Dread was: it responded to criticisms of Samus Returns and tried to bring the franchise to the next level in its design. Just the right amount of nostalgia bait and plenty of new ideas. The guidance was rock solid and they rewarded sequence breaking.

Beat this game earlier today. On one hand, I'm glad we finally got another Metroid Prime. However, there are soooo many issues. Pacing problems, an underwhelming final 1/3, overly chatty NPCs, a boring desert that you are forced to traverse constantly, etc... I could keep going.
