(And kinda gross, I also took a real film photography class and worked in a darkroom. 😭🫠)

(Kids these days will never understand the concept of picture-taking being expensive.)

I went to film school in '10 and was literally the last class to learn film on film, so I feel ya.

*Canada doesn't count as a border since it's a majority...

I didn't realize it until I drove I-10 twelve years ago. No one knows these things. I've lived next to Canada for most of my life and never encountered one, but I guess Canada doesn't count as a majority English-Speaking majority white country or something? It's really gross!

Goddamn it I thought I was a theater nerd until these jokes, lmao

Hi I was just about to post the same thing, lol. Sawyer's one of the only water filter brands at Academy Outdoors/Walmart (it seems, from my limited experience) so they're quickly accessible, but yeah, that bag is rough to use.

I don't want to get too deep because I'm not set up to sell clothes at the sec, but sourcing fabric on a consumer level vs. a wholesale level would drive up the cost a lot too. Idk. As I work this sewing job I'll think on it.

I worked a fast-paced night event last night so I feel groggy and stupid, but I mostly just wanna say I'm really excited to get time to play with color.

This is my entire life, so I have the time to invest that kind of energy for myself and friends, but selling them would be a lot. I did just get some professional sewing work recently so I might get faster and more skilled, but yeah, it's never going to be easily affordable in current circumstances.

I was thinking probably a few hours for copying the pattern, and like a day and a half to two days in building and problem solving, and then it'd be a matter of seeing how long a pair takes when I know what I'm doing (prolly not less than 4-6 hours with 90s dad pockets cutting fabric myself, idk?)

Goddammit I have a sewing machine and some basic pattern-transfer knowledge. Getting something vintage and stealing the pattern for some duplicates might be the level I'm willing to go at this point.

I don't really care how my butt looks, I want to be able to move around cozily and have big pockets.
November 23, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Omg exactly. Currently looking around for outdoors 90's dad cargo pants that comfortably fit a hippy femme and it's hard times.

This is my first listen to Assassins since I was introduced to it as a teenager, and I definitely appreciate it more now, but I feel like it's almost reached time-capsule status for the late 1980s. It's not shocking to say American culture is violent anymore. We know.

I had a road trip this spring where I listened to Hadestown on repeat for days. Day 4 I finally tried to turn on Sweeny Todd (which I've loved before) and within the first two songs I turned it off. I guess I'm sick of media pointing out social problems without solutions now that we're fully in it.

Assassins is either the perfect or the worst musical for these times. I feel like Hadestown is aspirational and modern, Assassins is good but its def a sardonic Sondheim musical (Sweeney Todd but analyzing America's assassination culture). It's important and interesting, but doesn't provide answers.
