And I think this is one of the woes of indie rhythm game devs. They can't afford the licenses for songs that many people will actually know about, so they gotta make do with what's available within their budgets

Would you like to offer to the dev to donate like a million dollars for the license?

Also don't expect it to last long. Arcaea only temporarily had Porter Robinson, for example.

Then there's the fact that many of these rhythm games I enjoy, while their artists (mostly BMS artists) are quite popular *within* the community, not so much outside, so I feel like I'm talking to a wall when I talk about artists like Reku Mochizuki and MYUKKE. outside of the RGC

But for real though as someone who's mainly into Asian-style rhythm games, I get people trying to feed me more "sane" and casual rhythm games and acting like I personally insulted them and their children when I say "thanks, but I'm not interested"

💙 Like I imagine if you toss a super easy mode at someone who doesn't already have the mentality needed to enjoy shmups, at best they'll go "well that's interesting" but not think about it ever again

💙 I say "superficially" because being bullet hell doesn't make a shmup automatically 10000 times harder than one that isn't. Otherwise pre-danmaku shmups wouldn't even be arcade games to begin with.

But good luck explaining that nuance to non-players.
