threads gif function is decent too, but you can only upload gifs from the mobile device. threads doesn't allow gif uploads from desktop version, which is nuts!!!

because the playback loop function of the 1-3 second video lags, glitches, and pauses. the video playback loop is not as smooth as a gif's. also, you can see the video functions at the bottom such as the timer counter & the completion bar, which ruins the seamless effect of a looping gif.

i have used skeets to upload the gifs that ultimately get converted to videos, but the video playback loop quality is not as smooth as a gif's. the playback loop function lags, glitches, pauses.

please allow us to upload gifs from our devices (and not convert them to mp4s)

no, the app converts your gif into a video when you upload it using the video button (desktop version) but the video playback isn't very smooth, not like a gif.

yes tenor compresses the gifs an insane amount, the quality is low

yes we need to be able to upload gifs from our devices. hopefully with a 22mb size limit
