social media doesn't become popular based on positivity, it becomes popular & pervasive based on negativity & arguments though. social media doesn't take for koombayah mentalit
One thing that I hope lasts here on BSKY is that it seems fewer people so far are busy broadcasting what they hate and spending more time broadcasting what they enjoy.

my feed is 90% just talking about how great bsky is, rather than any good content on bsky. this happened with threads to. there's no one funny here or particularly insightful. where are the trending hashtags, where's the trending page? where are the hot topics?

whether bsky users want to admit it or not, a large part of this text-based social media is ARGUMENTS. Arguments lay a foundation for social media. It's just the truth. Otherwise people get bored.
Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.
I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc
