Yes. An odd offseason. It would “almost” be best if the Dodgers grabbed Skubal, too, because then we (and every other team) would get a pass for the foreseeable future and just focus on rebuilding. No, I’m not serious. But …. ;-)

Diaz to Dodgers is not only deeply disappointing but also grotesque lily gilding. Still, if my team were the one grabbing all the top talent I wouldn’t hate it. So, I’ll try not to be a hypocrite about it.

Did none of you live through the Mets of the early ‘90s? When we had the worst fielding in all of MLB? THAT was the nadir. The team was unwatchable and had the personality of day-old chewing gum. I’m sad about Diaz and Alonso-absolutely-but those ‘90s teams were the epitome of existential despair.
