Just finished first two seasons and am loving it so far. One must suspend one’s disbelief fairly often, but it’s still enjoyable because Gary Oldman is having the time of his life in the lead role.

YES. The vibes were off all season. I think it was awkward between Lindor and Soto in terms of leadership for awhile. Soto is a bigger “star” but he was new. Meanwhile, Lindor was trying to be welcoming and accommodating. If the brass had made him captain sooner there would’ve been less ambiguity.

It sounds insane to say this about a team with the highest payroll in baseball, but: we have a LOT of holes. Like everyone, we need more pitching, but we also need folks who hit for avg (& w/RISP) and reliably field their position. Look at the batting stats. And the errors….

Yes, although the horrid defense contributed, too. We allowed the second-most unearned runs in MLB the last two months of the season and, though our pitchers were among the best at inducing ground balls, we were among the worst at converting those to outs

We’re likely to have at least one and maybe two or even three rookie pitchers. They need to be supported by defensively skilled infielders. We gave away many games with unearned runs this year. Solid pitching, small ball, and great defense would be welcome next year.
