I have angry hate posts about me because of a cartoon character keychain 🙃 I literally get directly harassed more by people who obsessively bitch about (sorry are “critical” about) the show than I do right wing bigots and that is crazy lol

The gall of hounding the creative team and especially Vivienne Medrano baffles the shit out of me. Why are they being asked to justify the moral fibre of the characters constantly when a keychain or something is made?! It’s insanity.

In all my years of being online and a fan of various things, never have I had to encounter the intense stupidity, ignorance and entitlement of people who hate Valentino. Media literacy needs to be taught in school, I swear to gawd. Do people not understand art these days at all?

I am astounded by the utter selfish entitlement and sheer stupidity of the online community these days. We eat SO DAMN WELL as fans. Better than any other franchise I can think of for merch. I live in Japan and I can’t tell you how much stuff and characters get overlooked and there’s no hope.
Not gonna lie: it gets stressful. I love this fandom. Many of us work 7 days a week, not because we’re forced to, but because we want to give you all as much as possible. Most properties produce dozens of items a year. We do closer to a thousand.
Yay! It must be frustrating knowing that whatever characters get featured, there will always be fans complaining that their own favorites were slighted. We appreciate your perseverance.

What I’m pleading for is patience. Please. If you’re asking if there will be merch of a character that has had any significant scenes the answer is probably yes, it’s coming.

Just for perspective, fan artists are usually planning out manufacturing for maybe a couple hundred pieces. We’re manufacturing tens if not hundreds of thousands of individual merch pieces PER COLLECTION.
I think it’s people not or misunderstanding how the whole merch planning and manufacturing works. Since I also buy merch from fan artists as well, I know a little about that whole process, but for a more corporate setting I know it’s a more in depth process so it takes longer.

I truly TRULY don’t give a fuck if people don’t like that we sell merch of fictional villains because I feel like most people alive know that’s a stupid thing to care about. But I love the idea a lot of these people who DO care a lot probably have some uwu lunchbox of Art the clown. 😂
