It’s ok to take a breath, take a break, and give yourself space. This is a lot.

I stopped at Scooters this morning, and the car in front of me had two adorable dogs. They were SO excited to get their pup cups. It brought the first real smile to my face in idk how long. May my large iced Caramelicious w/ 2 extra shots of espresso bring me even an ounce of the joy the pups had.

Hi.

Books are incredibly important.

Please let them be.

How do I sign up to be abducted by aliens or taken by a giant squid or by pirates or something? Anything? I’m not picky.

Maybe it’s actually a good thing that I’ve never paid much attention to my retirement account or moved money to different funds or whatever. 24 year old me just had no idea what to do with it and retirement seemed so far away. But 36 year old me is glad I don’t even know how much is (was?) in there.

Grieving people who are still alive is a difficult thing. It’s the “what could’ve been” thoughts that eat at me
Because our politics and our religion have become such a fierce battleground between us and those we love, we are now a nation of people attending perpetual funerals for the living.

This is a moral moment. 👏🏻

Not only an incredible feat over the past 25 hours and the beautiful breaking of a stain of a record previously held, but gosh dang that speech was just…wow. Even at 330am he was a powerhouse to listen to!

So who is next?

“You cannot yield the floor, because I have the floor.” 😂 Yes, yes you do, sir.
Also love the shoutout for Schoolhouse Rock! Because that’s definitely where I got most of my knowledge about our government and bills.

A few episodes into Severance. I understand that the company wants workers to just go to work, question nothing, and do their job, but the idea of having zero memories or thoughts of work is mighty appealing in present times. Or the other way around- no news, no crumbling society, just doing my job.

Freddie Mercury didn't go into the studio and nail the vocals for "The Show Must Go On" in one take while dying of AIDS for you to despair and give up now. Take the time you need, but then get up and get back out there.

The show must go on.

I have a great skill where I am 100% focused and don’t panic in an actual emergency. But when every day is a constant emergency that you can’t quit 100% focusing on, eventually it’s like drowning but not being able to quit swimming down.
Thankful for those who post dog pics; it helps with stress! 💜

Normally I would be a little grumpy about waking up at 3:30am, but it was kinda nice this morning. Spent some time appreciating the beauty of the stillness of fresh snow. Read for awhile. Enjoyed my coffee. Talked to my plants. Still had my pre-work cry, but the quiet before the storm was nice. ❄️

I love Andrea Gibson; they have gotten me through many dark times and learning to live with chronic illness.
Feeling this very much today. Via poetryisnotaluxury on Instagram.

11 years ago: falls on ice, fractures foot, stuck in an air cast
A few weeks ago: falls on ice, fractures foot and ankle, tears ligaments, stuck in an air cast and waiting to find out if I need surgery
Today: not going outside in the snow & ice, even if my home catches fire

Eventually I do learn.

Probably one of the most asked questions regarding LOTR that I think I could go on an hour or more discussion about… but this made me actually LOL and nowadays every laugh is a good laugh.
Also- read the book(s) for every book(s) to movie(s) adaptation! Especially Tolkien.
Not a single reporter at the Superbowl asked any of the Eagles why they didn't fly the Fellowship to Mordor.

Thoughts on the Super Bowl:
-Where were the good commercials?
-Phenomenal halftime show. All musical performances were top tier and the highlight.
-Butker didn’t even get to step foot on the field and then lost to a QB who has a management team of all women 😂😂 When is your next speech now, bud?

The Puppy Bowl is such a breath of fresh air and adorableness that is greatly needed in present time. Humans don’t deserve dogs, but I’m thankful they love us anyway.

I hope my neighbors liked my 5 am Hamilton singalong as much as I know they enjoy me listening to the same song on repeat for 5 hours.
Is it the millennial in me that makes me want to post cryptic song lyrics?
Regardless, here’s to another day of existing on coffee and music (and a little spite).

Monday.

You knew it was coming. You're ready.

You'll do more than cope. You'll do more than do "just fine."

You'll do brilliantly.

Affirmation Coyote knows.
