So much yes! I'm always very completionisy about reading all the text in puzzle games and A Monster's Expedition rewarded that SO much 💕

I totally get you on this one! It is rare and special and I never forget a place where I can just go and sit without bringing special cushions or preparations or worry!

This is hilarious and great and you are an amazing person 😂

This must have been a heartbreaking choice -- The Infinite Monkey Cage has been such a thing of joy over the years! -- but thank you for your principled stand. There aren't enough people like you out there 💕

I second this, the Pip Bartlett books are some of the funniest middle grade books I've ever read! They are very energetic and not scary at all (the vibe is more, "naturalist/explorer/veterinarian encountering monsters")

Re: scary -- There's no horror bent to speak of, but during the story, people become refugees because the monsters invade their city. It happens in an atmosphere of supportive community but a sensitive kid might find this existentially scary!

The Lightfall graphic novels by Tim Probert have beautiful vibrant art and an outlook similar to those tv shows you listed! Amazing worldbuilding and lots of good people and found family. Cool monster villains whose origins are a mystery. ++

I am pleased to report that I had three separate cups of hot chocolate on Monday! Very good day 👍

And I am embarrassed to say that I missed out on reading Fire & Hemlock as a kid/teen because I didn't like the font that my library's copy was printed in, and so refused to read it 😅

Ah, I remember the days when you could only know about a book's existence if it was literally on the shelf in front of you! My library had all of the Chrestomanci series, so I knew about those, but missed a lot of the others as well

Ugh, I have been told this too! With no consideration of how hard it is to get through a day with fibro.

You can throw this in the doctors' face next time: (tldr; a few naps a week decreases the risk of a cardiovascular problem by 48%)

I did not appreciate her books enough as a child (I think because I found them scary - and rightly so, they can be unsettling even though they're so fun!). But I reread her constantly as an adult

ooh this is such a particular crossover vibe and you've captured it perfectly! the sinister innocence

Well-deserved! 💕 Definitely one of my favourite sapphic romance couples

I don't necessarily give up on a book if it's challenging or frustrating — I DON'T want a totally frictionless reading experience — but I do give up if something is merely pleasant, does not have a single original thought, and just does the things it's "supposed" to do and nothing more

Cosmo could get a side job as a (dog) sweater model. He always looks adorable and impeccable!

This definitely qualifies as a scene from a Manic Pixie Autistic Girl movie released in the 2000s. "She climbs onto the sill. The crows form patterns in the sky. Melancholy rock plays in the background." :)

Also, I'm so mad that it's always the daughter of the family who's relied upon to do the caretaking, as if it's her "natural duty." Society ought to be better than this by now!! My mom is in a similar situation to you -- 4 siblings and yet she's doing ALL the caretaking for my grandmother herself.

As a lot of others are saying, he seems like a total asshole — with plenty of his own prejudices and judgments which are harming your well-being & ability to support yourself and be safe. I hate that you're in this situation and I support you in your anger + standing up for yourself! 💜 💕

I am so, so angry in your behalf. Honestly I don't think your brother is even treating you with as much kindness as you could expect from a total stranger — e.g. with an attempt to sympathize plus some benign misunderstanding, which is how most people approach disability, I've found. ++
