The chaos is by design. It’s to make you tired, hopeless. Look for the helpers, get local & find the people working for the things you want. Be the helpers. Get involved, build community, get some crocs😜. Breathe & keep moving with joy & purpose.

This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

I’m just an excited neurodivergent mom who’s flipping people the bird to tell them they’re number one at my kids basketball game, no worries, right? All good. I’m Neurodivergent.

The CEO of TikTok is expected to be at Trump’s inauguration. And Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. And X’s Elon Musk. And Amazon’s Jeff Bezos. And Google's Sundar Pichai. The last four have already kissed the ring — they have already shown deference to Trump.

Reagan had Hostages. Trump has TikTok.
TikTok. It’s not about dancing.

Trump hated TikTok (because China) until it helped him win an election (as even he acknowledges) and now he’s going to save it and take a victory lap. So he’ll have X, TikTok, Insta, and Facebook all working on his behalf. That’s a big difference between now and 2017.

Dems, Republicans & all 3 branches of our government came together as they probably never will again to ban a social media app instead of fixing literally anything that the American people have told them we need. Affordable groceries? Healthcare? Look up how many recently bought or own META

They are slowly breaking every awful campaign promise that they made to the bigots.

The people running the show only care about grifting — unless they fill detention camps with migrants and charge the government with contracts, there is no money in mass deportations.

🧵 I live in Los Angeles. We have not had to evacuate and are safe, but like many people here, I have friends who have lost everything. I realize I can't combat the firehose (see what I did there?) of bullshit spewing about this disaster from internet and media sources, but I'll say this:

“While Trump’s national popular-vote margin was just under 1.5%, his margin in news deserts was massive. Trump won 91% of news desert counties by an average of 54 percentage points.” open.substack.com/pub/jesspipe...
News Deserts
Don't confuse them with new desserts...one is sweet and the other is contributing to political polarization.

Do you have a local paper and could you write a letter to the editor next week?

Even if your paper is conservative, they often print letters from folks with a different POV. There is usually a limit of 250 words. Easy enough and it makes a difference.
