For today's #ArtAdventCalendar, a portrait of 4 black birds for my book, Roadkill. This raven, magpie, crow, and rook get the last words in that tale of woe. It makes me happy that I can offer original art along with my words, I say jauntily, as I draw 52(!) illustrations for my current project. 😅

I've made it a personal goal to stop using the term "content" when referring to media made by artists. The word implies mass-produced filler and calling someone's hard work their "content" has started to feel kinda like an insult. Like human art made strictly for quick consumption

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

Twelve princesses 👑
At last, I have finished my drawing! Here it is: ink drawing featuring 12 princesses walking in side profile to the right. They are walking through an orchard that hangs with crystal pears and (were this in color) silver and gold branches. The princess at the front has a lantern. The princess at the back is looking startled over her shoulder.
