I absolutely loved writing and researching this a couple years ago, and it really lifted the veil on the many Beatle moods and motivations in the lead-up to the Get Back period.

🗓️The annual Get Back Advent Calendar is back! It's Dec. 9, precisely 25 days (today included), til Jan 2. Every day I'll count down to the Beatles' 1st day at Twickenham, deep diving into what the Fabs did every day leading up to the Get Back/Let It Be sessions. theymaybeparted.com/2023/12/09/g...

Marking this one down as fab,
I poured a lot into writing this one, and am very happy how it turned out.
Good morning early risers, and good evening fellow night owls. Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ landmark 1965 concert at Shea Stadium, and I researched and wrote the hell out out it for MLB.com. An assignment I couldn’t refuse (and gave to myself). Enjoy!

The Beatles didn’t need a roof to be on top. But there they were Jan. 30, 1969 - 56 years ago today - playing without a gimmick atop 3 Savile Row, a venue needing no fabrication, ending a film and adding an iconic image to their legacy. Happy Rooftop Day, everybody! Context now, rewatch notes later

One of my most favorite moments in all of Get Back and something you'd never know only listening to the tapes (as rewarding an experience that is, especially in other ways), is when Ringo hangs up his kid's drawing by his drums. Bravo to Michael Lindsay-Hogg for capturing this. Deeply humanizing
