I've had a flare-up & have been bed-ridden the last week, but I have had plenty of time to watch people streaming Silent Hill f & I really like it. I didn't expect to see so many JP people on bsky calling it an otome game unironically. Reminder from Cybird: otome is a marketing label, not a genre.

At both Gamescom and TGS I have spoken to several PR folks who've lamented how hard it is to get coverage now, even for bigger games, and I feel like I am losing my mind because between startmenu and Rewinder I have never been so frequently stonewalled on coverage requests.

I'm not sure I like the 2d movement. I like the expression changes and eye movements, but breathing doesn't do anything for me. Anyways, that's it for today.

Prologue done. It's... oddly paced. The BGM is super soft & quiet & I don't feel it fits well, but it's not bad. Even more in love with Awayuki, unfortunately. The pining he has felt for years. Ugh, so good. I actually had to turn the music up & still feel it's quiet.

I am so grateful for takes like this from people in creative spaces. Especially now. Not being a woman has gotten me harassed to hell & back in certain otome spaces & the US is a scary place for trans peeps right now. I just want to live my life & enjoy my games without fighting for it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again—if you think straight romances can't be lgbt+ then you're wrong. bi people exist. trans people exist. ace people exist. and that's just a few examples!

regardless what otome and yaoi/yuri purists want, I will continue to support trans romances & devs

last year for otomefest we had an lgbt+ page for showcasing lgbt+ otome, but next year—if I get to hold it—I want to expand it further, to showcase otome with trans characters and otome made by lgbt+ people. this would all be self-identifying, but it's more important now to support trans creators

With the Kurenai loc, there's probably going to be commentary on Idea Factory/Otomate using a dif artist (shiki sakigumi) to copy Yone's old style for hakuoki and some other otome releases but like... as someone that works in a more corporate creative field it's really "yeah that's normal"
