I remember watching THE IMITATION GAME in my early 20s and being bowled over when I realized screenwriter was the guy who wrote ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD.

In the hallway, Stoppard told a poor 20-something PR assistant he wasn't going to the broadcast press room.
Handler: "Why won't you talk to them? You went to the print press room."
Stoppard: "Because they are writers, my dear. They ask much better questions."
RIP to the real thing.

I pitched [major health news outlet] a story explaining VAERS in 2021, after a Thanksgiving argument with anti-vaxxer relatives. The editor said she didn't want to run "another conspiracy theory story."

Now that database is setting national health policy!

I saw Mike Nichols’s production of Stoppard’s The Real Thing on Broadway when I was 19. It starred Jeremy Irons, Glenn, Close, Christine Baranski, Peter Gallagher, and Cynthia Nixon. Which is insane. No single production did more to shape my understanding of what modern theater could be.

I don't know how we get Dems to change the messaging on this, but to me, subsidies logically follow the employer-provided healthcare system: "OK. You want this system? In order to have small businesses, entrepreneurs and part-time jobs without benefits, we have to have subsidies."

One of my student workers @mujschool.bsky.social is profiling a local disability transit advocate. I will send that your way when it's published.
