The naturalist Jane Goodall died today at 91. Hope, she argued, is not merely “passive wishful thinking” but a “crucial survival trait.” Revisit a conversation with Goodall, from 2021: nyer.cm/F55JtsS

Research is the key to unlocking Canada’s future and it needs proper funding.

The federal government must uphold its Budget 2024 commitment to Canadian researchers.

Its notifications have been broken for me for about a year too - half the timeI don't get them when a friend comments but DO get them when some celebrity posts something no matter how many times I say stop showing me this.

I am so jealous of this oblivious pile of fluff.
A large grey cat kinda spilling out of a wicker cat bed resting his chin on the edge of the bed. He looks comfy and sleepy.

I haven't tried. All I know is that was around midnight after some very long days. Not sure why anyone bothered putting a total in at all though.

'"You can’t have hobbyist research that’s unfunded going on in institutions. We can’t afford it.”'

Such a badly formulated phrasing of the issues, so open to so many misinterpretations. If this is the level of thinking about research among sector leaders and policy-makers, be very afraid.
