Autumn. Decal paper print on synthetic medium. #printmaking
A black and white image of autumn leaves floating on the surface of a pond. Branches of surrounding trees are reflected in the water. Large cracks in the print itself create the effect of additional branches. The irregular edges of the print itself resemble a polaroid emulsion transfer.

Thank you Stefan, glad you enjoyed the images and the writing. It’s an amazing place, so visceral.

I think it was the ‘you only live once’ approach and overall fascination of it it would work that made me try it. Mind you I’m rather partial to a good Parmo so my arteries are well trained 🤣
That saying, the retired ex head of a regional NHS board on our workshops tried a Parmo…. Must be ok,right🤣

Cheers Mike, hope you’re keeping well?

Very mesmeric indeed.

Not too dissimilar to some slow mo video I created in Ardnamurchan when transfixed with some of the water / light interplay.

I’ve incorporated some of them into this piece exploring the sound of Ardnamurchan through ambisonic experiment

I’m currently fascinated by going through my back catalogue of original Fleeting Reflections images and using the shots that preceded the chosen image and using software to make a looping video from them. This way you can imagine what I was actually looking at when I was photographing the water.

Sorry couldn’t recall, I’m not sure if they’re a thing to try or to avoid for fear of a coronary…….mind you I did live (so far) to tell the tale 🤣

And very close the the chippy that does ‘pizza crunch’.

A pleasure, you’re so right. In fact, sometimes colour is just too important and intrinsically linked to the sense of place that you can’t throw it away.
It was something I explored recently in one of my recent blog posts: www.rkphotographic.com/blog/2025/9/...

….. a little and revealed itself to us, then it gradually crept back in and as we left it enveloped the place behind us again as if keeping its secrets it had partially revealed to us.
rkphotographic.bsky.social
Thanks mate, me too. I do find myself loving a bit of f2.8 in the landscape, and with the most as well it felt like it developed the mystery and ‘feel’ of the place.
It was a rather special morning to be fair, you could not see Bourblaige as we walked the track, but as we arrived the mist cleared…
