and #153.

The folding will continue until this sick rage passes and I can get back to doing something productive.

Anyway, crane #152

Good afternoon, @311somerville.bsky.social! Upper Glenwood is really getting the worst of both the weather and the snowplows. Can you add us to the the list to get a little attention as soon as it warms up enough for patching?

The civil war has already begun, it’s just not evenly distributed.

…and crane #57 is made of a printed paper that is thicker and comparatively harder to fold.

Crane #56 is made of metallic gold paper, and I love the way it catches the light.

This is starting to become a habit.

I went to Papersource for a pen and some notepaper, and noticed the bag had a request that it be recycled. Instead, I cut it into 3” squares, and it’s actually a nice paper for making cranes!

My holiday KitKats said you should save the package to make cranes out of it.

So I did!

My little crane family!

Today’s crane has less interesting paper, as it was made with a post it note! I’m proud of it, though. The smaller size is more of a challenge.

I learned how to make paper cranes yesterday. Not too bad for my very first one.

Personally, I’m enjoying my observance of the classic American holiday celebrating immigration with kung pao turkey and sautéed green beans!

OMFG. THEY SPRAY TANNED THE WHITE HOUSE.

Accosted by a ruffian on my way home. What is this city coming to when you have teenagers roaming the streets and menacing the populace?!?

Bonus additional photo featuring my sweet helper kitty, Aisling. She approves of sock knitting, because she can usually fit herself into my lap for a snooze while I’m working!

The pattern is simple, with cables twisting up the ankle, reminiscent of bougainvillea vines trailing up the sides of buildings.

I picked up this hand painted yarn while in San Francisco, and it reminds me of the bougainvillea that grew along the houses I saw while walking through Russian Hill.
