Crane #56 is made of metallic gold paper, and I love the way it catches the light.

I went to Papersource for a pen and some notepaper, and noticed the bag had a request that it be recycled. Instead, I cut it into 3” squares, and it’s actually a nice paper for making cranes!

My holiday KitKats said you should save the package to make cranes out of it.

So I did!

Today’s crane has less interesting paper, as it was made with a post it note! I’m proud of it, though. The smaller size is more of a challenge.

I feel the “attractive to the cat” part. Nothing like blocking a project only to walk in and find it covered in fur … and sometimes worse!

Seriously, every couple of years I read through the entire series. Last time I went one sub-series at a time, I just restarted over thanksgiving with a publishing order reread!

So beautiful! I love blocking. That moment when the messy pile of stitches is truly revealed for the first time. It’s like magic.

Personally, I’m enjoying my observance of the classic American holiday celebrating immigration with kung pao turkey and sautéed green beans!
