It's difficult when far away to know WHAT to ask or say, knowing nothing we say helps. We know Minnesotans are not ok. But we want them to know that we care about them and are there for them. Be honest in reply to this question and let people know how shit the situation is.

Hugs. Meltdowns are 100% justified in this situation.

Wow! So brave! I hope you got extra treats for your bravery- you deserve them.

Post grooming. Apparently he was correct in his skepticism (though I have it on good authority that he seems overall happy to have lost half his weight in hair, even though it hasn't been as hot there since his grooming).

Due to a combination of factors, Charlie was desperately overdue for a grooming. He spent his first 2 weeks in Arizona wearing his Minnesota coat. Yet he was still deeply skeptical of my parents' plans for him the morning of his grooming....

The MPD chief? Wow indeed!

So very weird, but in a delightful way. At least a Michigan coworker and I are trying to make "ope" happen in Berlin, so there's that.

Oh, they are BIG mad. I feel ashamed and like I let someone down and I didn't even do anything!

I can't see a size 6 anything without thinking "perfect size six."

Sure, until all those repressed emotions exploded....

This makes a ridiculous amount of sense. Gallant probably would have been a very boring person to be around.

Banjo and Charlie would get along well. They could sit on opposite sides of a room and ignore each other in peace.

I always thought they were twins, but maybe not? Were we all taking behavioral advice from kids whose backstory we didn't even know????

When I read IPA I was super impressed as it is a lot to memorize in a short time! I assumed notes were being written in IPA as ICE agents wouldn't be able to figure out what they said and would think it's some super complicated code or something.

Fun fact- prescription medication here is in blister packs. They come in boxes that have braille as well as printed text. This is just standard!

I really hope so! Crossing everything for you.

Me. I did. FMLA when I had issues healing from PRK was so bad that I gave up. Thankfully, everything had resolved and I was back to working at full capacity, but I had no protection. And HR told me to apply for it in the first place....

Everything benefits related in the US is a fight. It's so ridiculous. Adding G to my health insurance in the US, which we paid extra for? A fight, every year. Adding him here, where we don't pay a penny toward his premium? Unbelievably easy.

This is rather ominous....

This really sucks and I hate that you're going through this. Today I took a walk on my lunch break. The tree is up at the Brandenburg Gate!

Where is this one? We've been going to the ones in Berlin almost every day since they opened last week, but day trips are on the horizon as soon as my vacation starts!
December 4, 2025 at 4:50 PM
I hope you heal well.

ALL of this! I'm so frustrated with my parents right now because they refuse to even ask a neighbor to take Charlie for a walk. Meanwhile my mum almost died of sepsis and needed 2 surgeries at the same time that my dad's cancer was found to have progressed and he needs immunotherapy. Ask. For. Help!

The time in 2002 when my company wanted to give me an afternoon off to go to my grandma's funeral. In Saskatoon. And then accused me of taking a vacation instead and made me bring in her obit. I didn't, by the way. I walked off the job instead.
