I started watching AFTER listening to the podcast (spoilers be damned!). I'm at episode 3 so far, and meh. And sorry, but the actor who plays Kip is terrible.

The issue is: What are the consequences for following illegal orders? Because right now the impression is that whether an order is legal or not doesn't matter, as there are no consequences.

The fact that he somehow felt offended by her reaction, and said all those horrible things to her, does not bode well for the future. He should be able to understand why she reacted that way, and that her fears are fully justified. Instead, he made it all about him and his ego.

Question is: Who paid for the wedding? B/c if her parents paid, that gave them leverage. It doesn't make their behavior (dad was just as awful as mom) justifiable, but they likely felt they were entitled to do as they pleased. And she saw this coming miles away.
