He wouldn't know democracy if it bit him on the arse and slapped his pasty chops. Which is not to say it shouldn't do so anyway.

I'd have to add a sprinkling of fennel seeds, which may be a divisive entry.

We've had these here for ages. They are seriously heavy & have defence movements built in. Can be a bit dodgy trying to pass by because they veer towards you unexpectedly. I've seen one trying to cross the road between parked cars and I've no idea how it would know if a cyclist was coming past.

They are heavier than they look & pretty scary - I tried to help one up a kerb that it was battering against repeatedly. It activated some kind of aggression defence and pushed back hard at me.

The state of some of these platforms now is horrific. I reported an outrageously racist comment on BBC HYS yesterday (about the budget), and it was taken down immediately, but in the few minutes it was up it garnered about half a dozen upvotes.

I've never seen one myself - they don't exist here - but on that basis it's sounding like quite a versatile or inclusive term in a world of some otherwise very specific definitions.

My first thought was turnovers, but they have to be pastry to count, at least in the UK.

My parents spent years feeding me both, but I could only stomach either under a mound of ice cream. Having said that, neither matches the horror of gooseberries in literally anything.
