He is, thank you! He's pretty much fully recovered now and back to being a little angel half the time and a little menace the other half. 😸 (And a full-time house cat now!)

He still won't stay inside too long and does put his distance with us after a while, and he still doesn't quite have enough strength to leave the backyard like he'd want. But progress is being made, and I'm happy about it. Here's hoping he'll return to a more normal state soon.

He can't leave the backyard but has tried to, and while he doesn't flinch at my touch, he's not leaning into it or want to stay close to me like before. At some point he turns away.

It's honestly heartbreaking. Can fellow cat owners confirm if this is temporary and/or give tips to rebuild trust?

He's been sleeping most of today. I've honestly been feeling worried (hence why I'm posting this so late) but the vet tells me him being lethargic and distant is normal & he should slowly improve as the days pass. I'll continue praying for his recovery and that he'll soon let me cuddle him again. 💖

Here are pics of: 1) him right now (he's starting to calm down, but he needed a LOT of anesthesia so the vet says he'll need time to get out of it fully), 2) the extracted tooth I got to keep, and 3) the scratches he gave me while I held him to get his shot. 😅 (I'm okay DW haha)

My poor boy spent all afternoon loopy and trying to get up. He must've gotten SO scared, but considering all the fights he used to get into and the risk of acquiring deceases, I do think this will be for the best in the long run. Hopefully in time he'll get used to being a full-time house cat.

Thank you, Cloudy! The boy is doing better now. 💛 I'll give a more detailed update later because it was a bit of a long story. 😅

Since Simba's never ridden in the car and we don't have a carrier, I contacted a vet who makes house calls so Simba can at least remain in a familiar and safe environment and doesn't try to run away.

Here's hoping the vet can help him and that everything will turn out okay. Prayers appreciated.

But the tooth still there today, and it's clearly bothering him. He still eats, but he can't groom himself properly because the tooth is now sort of horizontal and gets in the way, and he's licking it constantly.

In short, he's going to be seeing the vet for the first time today. (⬇️)
