Creative human who’s been writing and drawing stuff for nearly seven decades now. I live right about in the middle of that picture across the top of this page. I wanted to be somewhere besides a city for a while before I figure out what I’m doing next.

The “Bootstraps” idiom was originally meant to refer to the literally impossible. It was co-opted.
Idiom Origin

“pull yourself up by your bootstraps”

This was originally *sarcasm* & meant to convey that the act was impossible.

A boot strap is a loop used to help put your boot on.

This 1921 cartoon from the “Nonpartisan Leader” showcases that you can’t pull upward on your boots to levitate.

Also woke up after 4 hours sleep …and also apparently missed the something stupid because I’ve been avoiding news all weekend. So gonna try to get back to sleep for at least a couple more hours. Think of a 5 letter word, then think of all the words that begin with each letter one by one…zzzz

I’m OK. Glad you are coping. ❤️Health issues/hospital during September but feeling better. Starting an engaging creative project and letting everything else slide for a while. No longer broke, though still have to watch $. Avoiding news as much as I can but getting out to protest.

I keep stumbling into AI made-up-crap-passing-for-real all the time. It keeps intruding into my online research on musicians. I just “learned” Brahms’ first symphony was nicknamed the Titan. (No, it was Mahler’s.) And, excuse me, AI, it was Chopin who had tuberculosis, not Brahms. 🙄

There is so much fake info on the web and AI is to blame. I was researching composers for a writing project and one site declared Brahms had tuberculosis and was sickly most of his life. No. That was Chopin. (How many students now depend on ChatGPT?) What is “real” will soon take on new meaning.
