Louisiana’s decision actively puts lives at risk. Vaccines are one of our most effective public health tools. This is a deliberate to prioritize safety in favor of political extremism. We cannot stand by while science is devalued and politicized.

Louisiana forbids public health workers from promoting COVID, flu and mpox shots
An NPR investigation found Louisiana health officials told staff to stop promoting vaccines for COVID, flu and mpox, holding flu shot events or otherwise encouraging the public to get those vaccines.

Health disparities persist in places like SC’s “Corridor of Shame,” where policy failures like refusing Medicaid expansion deny care to underserved communities. We must advocate for equity through Medicaid expansion, rural health investment, and structural change. #HealthEquity #PublicHealth #MedSky

Nowhere in America is safe—schools, grocery stores, movie theaters, concerts, even playing outside. Gun violence is an epidemic. Thoughts and prayers won’t solve this. How many more children must be traumatized before we act on evidence-based solutions?

A 2nd grader made the 911 call.

My son is a 1st grader — I can’t even wrap my head around how he could be expected to do this.

Gun violence is preventable. Keep applying pressure to lawmakers. #medsky
Another school shooting... Advice for parents: Listen to your kids, speak honestly, reassure them, limit media, and support their emotions.

Be present, share love, work for change. Thanks, @wcvb5.bsky.social.

Misinformation is spreading, and trust in science is under attack. Figures like RFK Jr.—a non-healthcare professional promoting vaccine denial and rejecting established science—undermine public health and put lives at risk.

SAME
I now have had too many moments where I open twitter, stop, immediately close the app, and open Bluesky instead.

Like there are now very little reasons to check Twitter anymore tbh. And I deeply love that for me 😌

THIS
I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.

Once upon a time, Twitter was my favorite SM platform; news, culture, fun history threads, etc. Now, it is a wasteland of conspiracy theories and far-right activism. Happy to have escaped to the clear blue skies.
