Looked it up and the carrier was Ontrac. Never heard of them before but some light googling suggests this a typical user experience.

Just learned that Butch Guice died. He drew a ton of big comics in the 80s and 90s and then completely overhauled his style in the 21st century into something even better. He had a rep as a good person and we're losing too many of those.
