I will say again: The destruction of the CFPB—an agency that has brought in $20 billion over a little more than a decade despite having an annual budget that's less than what DOD has spent so far today—is the clearest sign none of this has anything to do with saving taxpayers money.

"I am preparing this declaration to ensure that the Court is aware of the imminent risk that twelve years’ of critical CFPB records, which belong to the public, will be irretrievably lost and cause serious and sweeping damage unless the Court takes action."

It is remarkable that of all the celebrities from the '80s who've gone full fash Axl Rose of all people zoomed in the other direction.

I don't need your civil war".

Definitely not, just that show. It’s weird.

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

Nobody is clamoring for a world where Mike Johnson decides who performs at the halftime show, and Mike Johnson will never ever like who performs at any major US event that people actually want to see. They will never be on his side.

"They have the guns, we have the poets. Therefore, we will win." - Howard Zinn

I love this not because I think you can destroy authoritarianism with a poem, but because if you have the creators of everything that gives life meaning—art, literature, music—on your side, you will win in the long run.

I'm sure I'm not the first to point out how hilarious it is that he thinks anyone would give a shit about a Lee Greenwood halftime show, but it also says something that he thinks Greenwood—a piece of shit grifter who sells Bibles and vapid jingles to idiots—is a good role model.

Mike Johnson isn't happy that Bad Bunny is performing at the Super Bowl: It sounds like he's not someone who appeals to a broader audience. There's so many eyes on it. A lot of young, impressionable children. In my view, you would have Lee Greenwood or role models doing that. Not somebody like this.

Your officers are being impacted.

How will you help them?

Otherwise they are merely warm bodies on the street for what purpose?

Why are they not prepared for chemical agents to be used? DHS does not respect your city. Prepare & act like it

For no particular reason, I find myself thinking today about the time that some boogaloo boys were convicted of murdering a Black security guard during a Black Lives Matter protest, apparently in hopes that it would foment a civil war.

The governor's order could certainly allow for troops to come into Baton Rouge, but the messaging from the administration is all about New Orleans. As Trump said on Fox, "New Orleans is in really bad shape, and the governor wants us to go in... I can fix that up in a week and a half.”

Guess which city Trump is threatening to send the national guard into? www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
New Orleans has seen a significant reduction in crime this year, with the city’s murder rate falling to lows not seen since the 1970s after a pandemic-era spike, according to local police data. As of Sept. 6, overall crime was down 19 percent from a year ago, those figures show.

In Baton Rouge, which has a Republican mayor, the statistics were more mixed. As of Sept. 9, there were eight fewer homicides in the city this year compared with a year ago, but robberies and assaults over the last six months were on the rise, according to local police data.
