Try Moby Dick, feeling free to skip chapters you get bored by. This is no more sacrilegious than picking up a New Yorker only for the cartoons. MD has more comedy than you’d expect for such a holy tome of US literature, and certainly pages of soaring prose.

2/2 It just seems so calculated for Newsom’s own political future. And of course an ambitious politician is going to be thinking in that direction, but at the moment, I prefer the leaders who call Trump out just for the sake of the _country’s_ future. Maybe it’s just GN looking so GQ . . .
