Ah yes, the Blizzard way.

World of Warcraft: “ Oh hey, look at that. That’s a nice mod/feature. It would be a real shame if it… suddenly appeared in our game too.”

You’ve definitely got a good idea there.

More to the point: It’s about spending your time how you want to spend it. If money wasn’t a factor, you’d enjoy it just fine. What you dislike is probably how difficult it is to be self sustaining- not making games. Given funding- why would working on games “suck the love out”? Because hard work?

That’s right. We’re talking about a subjective value placed on how one spends that time. I understand the conversation.

That’s the subjective difference- what exactly you consider a valuable use of your time. If we’re talking about something you’re passionate about, maybe you’d feel less like you’re “working full time” as opposed to living a particular lifestyle that you choose to live.

Additionally, having an identical handling of stateful chats that can toggle between foundation models and open-source models is really convenient. Lets my software support a variety of models while using a similar architecture that feels more maintainable.

Have you given yourself a tiny scope? Settle for a game with a single mechanic that keeps you occupied for less than an hour- then once that notch is on your belt scale it up?

Find enjoyment in the process, not the destination. When you dance, you enjoy it simply because you’re dancing. There’s not a spot in the room you ought to end up at afterwards.

So just enjoy the dance and don’t worry about where you end up.
