Black Friday. A year ago I bought a nice OLED TV on a Black Friday sale. I knew the minute I took it out of the box that the technology would be outdated. That model is not even sold anymore, nicer ones are now the same cost. Just how the world works. Our TV picture is as nice as it ever was.

Its a problem if a farmer retires? Its not OK if a farmer was successful? Not every farmer has an heir to pass the farm on to. The farm sells, someone else farms the land. I hope the fellow gets to enjoy his retirement. A successful farmer near us is selling in March due to cancer. Things happen.

What really happened is the 2025 Walmart dinner included a Butterball turkey at 97 cents per pound. That is a loss leader. Which is fine but don't use the Walmart dinner as an indication of food prices. Food prices are up. No question.

Maybe putting a dozen narcissistic poser Fox hosts in charge of sprawling federal agencies with millions of combined employees and vastly important responsibilities with enormous power wasn’t the greatest plan.

It is horrible but... IMO the immigration crackdown possibly is the most popular policy Trump has. Immigration certainly was one factor in the dramatic defeat of the Democrats in Nov 2024. (Saying dramatic defeat because there was no way Trump should have won).

Ukraine tried to align itself with the west. With the United States and Europe. Question is now can Europe even help? We know the United States cannot offer consistent help to any nation. There was help under Biden but things change. The USA cannot offer a consistent foreign policy position.

What if, just what if, this is not how it happens. In my cynical mind I can imagine that Putin has more direct communication with Trump. Possibly through Melania. Possibly just by picking up the phone. Putin tells Trump how it is going to go down, not the other way around.
